Why Seamless Gutters?
Factory shipped gutters often require end laps; end-lapped gutters do not stand up to snow and cold weather, since snow and ice build-up conditions disintegrate the gutters at joints causing them to fail eventually.
Seamless gutters offer a permanent solution to such failures because there are no end laps or joints. Full length gutters are rolled to fit each specific elevation.
Aluminum gutters need freedom of movement due to thermal expansion and contraction. An Englert's seamless gutter is designed as a kind of floating system, suspended by a variety of hanger systems, such as wrap around hangers, and combination hanger fascia bracket systems, assuring freedom of movement caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
Englert’s CastleClad Two-Coat Paint System
Englert's gutter and rainware products are treated with "CastleClad", a two-coat paint system. The two-coat system comprises of an acid based primer followed by a linear polyester top coat, both applied in a single operation at its in-house state-of-the-art 48" wide coating line. The acid base primer adheres firmly to pre-treated and corrosion shielding aluminum and marries the top (finish) coat to the metal to form a quality coating.
Two-Coats Are Better Than One!
The "CastleClad" two-coat system is far superior to the single-coat system in that it is resistant to dirt adhesion and greatly minimizes "tiger striping" that is so common in the gutter industry, particularly in its High Gloss White Finish. In addition, the "CastleClad" two-coat system offers the following advantages:
- Prevents unsightly peeling.
- Greater color retention ability is built into the finish coat by quality pigments and resins used in coating, offering added protection and longer life.
- Stands up to the environment better and is not moisture sensitive.
- Easy to clean and has better flexibility in roll forming.
To most homeowners, home is perhaps the largest single investment that they will ever make in their lifetime. It only makes good sense to protect it with Englert's CastleClad gutter and rainware products. Englert offers a wide range of colors. Please ask for a color matching to be sent by mail.

Maintenance of your seamless gutters and rainware products
Normal Conditions
The CastleClad finish on your seamless gutter and rainware products is one like any other colored or painted surface, subject to chalking and some degree of color change due to normal atmospheric weather conditions and, also due to dirt accumulation, depending on the atmosphere to which your sub-division is exposed to. Under normal conditions, objectionable, superficial surface dirt can be removed by washing down the gutters with a garden hose and a soft bristle brush. While weathering occurs through exposure to sunlight or extreme weather conditions, the CastleClad finish resists the associated problems of peeling, chipping, and blistering. In addition to resistance to chipping, peeling, and blistering, the CastleClad coatings are formulated to resist fading (color change) due to normal weathering for a reasonable period of time, again depending on the atmospheric conditions to which your home is exposed. The CastleClad finish has built-in color retention ability. It resists dirt and stands up to the environment better. The resistance to dirt adhesion provides a self-cleaning feature which helps to greatly minimize loose surface dirt caused by normal rainfall.
Unusual Conditions
In industrial areas where a more thorough cleaning is necessary for stains resulting from tree sap, insecticides, chimney fumes, etc., the finish should be washed with a sponge or soft bristle and a solution of detergent and water (1/3 cup Tide per gallon of water, for example). Immediately rinse surfaces thoroughly with a garden hose. Avoid vigorous rubbing as it can cause the coating to lose its luster and finish. To minimize streaking, wash from bottom to top.
